Nucor Skyline providing steel to historic surge barrier project in New Orleans

Working with Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure Group, Nucor Skyline is providing steel for the largest design-build civil works project in the history of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Surge Reduction - as it's officially named - is a $695-million wall barrier designed to protect New Orleans from storm surges similar to that generated by Hurricane Katrina.

Nucor Skyline is furnishing almost 18,000 tons of steel pipe (36" OD x .750 wall) to Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure Group for this massive two-mile long project. When the production and fabrication are complete, the steel pipe will be loaded on barges and transferred to a Shaw subsidiary in Delcambre, LA.

Three Rivers Park District Road Stabilization Project Using NZ 19

As seen in PileBuck - Jul/Aug 2015: – Problem: The road in the Intercity Regional Trail was deteriorating in two locations and was also showing signs of erosion. The design called for a permanent steel sheet pile wall with a concrete cap. The project consisted of two walls. Wall #1 measured 440 linear wall feet and required sheets ranging from 15'–25' long. Wall #2 was 230 linear feet with sheets ranging from 15'–25' long. When Kraemer North America submitted the bid, they planned on using PZ 22 sheets.
