Z-Piles

Z-shaped sheet piles are called "Z" because each individual piece has a shape that roughly resembles a horizontally stretched Z. The interlocks are located as far as possible from the neutral axis in order to ensure an adequate transmission of shear stress and to increase the strength-to-weight ratio. Z sheet piles are the most common type of sheet pile in North America and can be used in a wide variety of applications.

Types of Z-types

NZ Sheet Pile

Nucor NZ sheet piles are offered exclusively by Nucor Skyline. NZ sections offer the widest range and the best strength-to-weight ratio among domestically produced sheet piles. Likewise, these sections are the widest of the domestically manufactured sheets, which reduces the number of sheet piles that need to be driven. The Larssen-type interlock is exceptionally watertight, and all NZ sections interlock with each other.

PZ Sheet Pile

PZ sections have been manufactured in the United States for many years and are widely recognized for their ball-and-socket type interconnection system. PZ sections are ideal for reuse, thanks to their compactness and the durability of their interconnection system. In addition, this ball-and-socket system allows an angular deviation of up to ten degrees, which facilitates the execution of tight curves on site.

SCZ/SKZ Sheet Pile

SCZ/SKZ piles are cold-formed sheet piles, produced from steel coils. SCZ/SKZ profiles are generally wide and efficient, and allow a greater bending angle than hot-rolled sheet piles. There is a wide variety of options available immediately, thanks to adjusted and flexible rolling programs. The SCZ/SKZ section range consists of five different sizes in various thicknesses.
