Naval Support Activity Annapolis

Nucor Skyline 48” OD x 1.00” pipe piles were used by McLean Contracting as mooring dolphins at the timber swing piers constructed to dock the yard patrol craft during reconstruction of the main yard patrol pier.more

Lansing Bridge

Nucor Skyline supplied over 400 tons of 108” and 138” ID pipe piles that were used as drilled shafts for a bridge foundation in Lansing, IA. The new bridge will include upgrades such as an 8-ft. shoulder, 12-ft. driving lane widths, a 180-foot height above the water, and a reinforced concrete bridge deck. The shafts were drilled over 145’ deep, including 25’ rock sockets. Once the shafts were set into the bedrock, they were filled with reinforced concrete and the pier footings and columns were set in place.more

INDOT State Route 249

Parsons Engineering designed the project at State Route 249 in Indiana, and Superior Construction was the contractor for the design-bid-build project. The project included a new, wider bridge to carry the more than 10,000 vehicles per day over US 12 at State Road 249. Nucor Skyline supplied the H-piles, pipe piles, and assorted end plates and backing rings needed on this project.more

Delaware Memorial Bridge

PS 31 interlocking flat sheet pile cells are being used in the new ship collision protection system for the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Ralph E. Pierson Construction Co. worked closely with the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA), S.T. Hudson Engineers, Hartman Engineering, and Nucor Skyline on the design of the system.more

CSX Railroad Bridge

The Florida Department of Transportation is working with CSX Railroad to replace the railroad bridge crossing I-4 in Lakeland, FL. The two new 400-foot parallel bridges will provide two tracks for CSX and will accommodate any future expansions of I-4 without reconstruction of the bridges. Nucor Skyline, who worked with the driving contractor, MasTec Civil, manufactured and supplied PZ 40, NZ 42, and miscellaneous connectors for the bridge abutment section of the project.more
